Overview:
You take the role of a Japanese teenage girl as she traverses her fog enshrouded town looking for her friends or basically just trying to figure out what’s going on. Along the way she’ll battle some crazy looking monsters and solve intricate puzzles to get to the bottom of the mystery. It’s a third person survival horror game in the vein of the initial installments of the Silent Hill franchise. Enemies are viscous, resources are light, and everything is out to get you so make sure you’re well prepared to survive.

Visuals:
All of the effects, environments, characters, and creatures all give off that very spooky vibe I feel that Silent Hill 2 exuded so well. I love the way a sleepy American town turned scary transitions so well to a sleepy Japanese town. Things that are typical in small towns and seen as mundane have now become extraordinarily scary. Maybe I’m not just used to seeing modern games but it looks terrific for something as simple as trying to mimic real life.

Audio:
Sometimes simple is better because there is just a very minimal background noise going on. When the monsters pop up you do get the scary music and that’s very effective. The voice acting is also, from what I can tell since I don’t speak Japanese, is pretty good. I believe every interaction and the danger our characters are in. I’m not a fan of the creature noises because they’re just inhuman but I guess that’s the point!

Completion:
I’m still working on this game but I felt I had to write about it just so I had to stop taking screenshots while I’m playing. It’s taking me out of the game. Anyways, this game is amazing so far. I just feel an immense sense of dread the entire time I’m playing and I’m enjoying the combat. You really do feel in a survival horror state. The vibes are great. Everything is great. I just wish the saves were a little bit more convenient, or even a quick save, but then that would defeat the purpose of the game.

Update: 11/14/2025
I FINISHED THIS GAME! And…I need to take a step back from Silent Hill games for a while. I need something happy :\
