Overview:

Kris Kross was a global fuckin phenomenon back in the early 90s when it came out. I was a grade schooler at the time and these kids were someone I wanted to be. I didn’t dress like them, unfortunately, because I lacked the confidence. There were a couple of kids in my 2nd grade class who did and, let me tell you, they were cool. ANYWAYS, the Make My Video games were released to allow you to take the music video and splice it with royalty stock footage to make your own video! Of course you’re dictated by some random people to tell you what to put in the video, but that’s the biz. At the end, they grade you, and you can say you’re a director! By the way, this is on the Sega CD, so QUALITY IS BAD!

The formalities of this and that…

Visuals:

This is some grainy ass video for all three of the simultaneous videos going at once. Also the UI is all over the place because that’s just how the times were. The good thing is that you can switch between the video feeds with just a push of a button so you don’t really have to move a cursor around which allows for fast switching.

Is that Sega CD is wack

Audio:

Can I say that this is where the game fucking excels. The video may look like shit but the audio is where it’s at. The songs came through in a pretty good quality where all I really wanted to do was listen to the music and couldn’t care less about making my video. This one is top notch.

Completion:

Can you REALLY complete this game? I made my video, presented it to my client, he hated it, and then I got kicked to the home screen to make another video. If this is the case I guess the possibilities are endless since you can just keep creating different videos for the songs. So there’s that.

Lon Chaney?
