Overview:
In the future, the Earth and the Moon are at war with each other, for the second time. The Moon’s inhabitants need a resource from the Earth and they will stop at nothing to get it. You take control of a top secret ship, Einhander, on suicide missions to try to make the Earth succumb to the great might of the Moon. By the way, this is a side scrolling shooter game from Squaresoft!

Visuals:
I have loved the way this game has looked ever since I first played it on the Interactive CD: Volume 7 demo disc and it does not disappoint. The ships, environments, & bosses are all dripping with style and are all unique from each other. Even with the minimal polygon count from this generation, and the swimmy textures that plague the PlayStation, this game is just a beauty to behold.
Audio:
As with the visuals, this game’s soundtrack is way above and beyond anything I had ever heard of at the time. It’s kind of a mix between early-90s techno beats, German opera, & industrial? It’s just really special. Bosses are equally amazing with their crazy roars even though they are machines. Because of this, I bought the soundtrack and it is in a nice rotation which plays every couple of months.

I FINISHED THIS GAME! Even with the demo disc, this game is kind of impossible to beat if you don’t have quick reflexes or a detailed memory. I have neither so I used cheats. Going through the levels was like a breath of fresh air with how unique and kind of crazy they are. The story is fun to witness and see where it goes with the ending being something that I wasn’t expecting. A. M. A. Z. I. N. G. !!!
