Alien 3

Alien 3 follows the movie loosely as you control Ripley through levels desperately seeking prisoners before the time limit runs out.  Should you fail in your mission, aliens pop out of their chests and game over man…GAME OVER…unless you have other tries.

Visuals

This game gets has some pretty nice graphics for a NES game, though the Ripley character could use some work as she looks like a special needs dude.  The level design is also quite confusing since you can’t really tell what’s in front or behind of you.  There are some cutscenes that show the xenomorphs in all their slimy glory.

One little thing I noticed was when I had lost and aliens started bursting out of chests.  They looked like dongs.  Seriously.

Audio

The music in this game is pretty badass, I can’t lie there.  From the start of the game you’re greeted with some pretty moody, but awesome, songs that set the atmosphere for the game.  Having never scene the third movie in a coherent state I can’t say if this originates from there.

Completion

I suck at this game apparently.  I was doing pretty good taking out aliens and their face hugger babies but met my demise because I failed to notice that there was a time limit for the prisoners.  I did have a pretty good time playing the game and especially loved the animation when Ripley tumbles down the stairs.  Priceless.
