Overview:
A side-scrolling action game with you taking the role of Batman as you work your way through levels beating up, what I’m assuming based on the title, Joker’s thugs who want nothing more than to kill you. You’ll face enemies of all types as well as numerous traps blocking your path. It’s a pretty straight forward game. You traverse the levels and obstacles in which you get to a boss battle at the end which kind of turns into a fighting game of sorts.

Visuals:
I don’t think this was a Batman game originally as the levels look very out of place in the world of Batman and the Joker. Everything just kind of looks like the old European vibe to it, like Castlevania, with Batman shoehorned in the middle of it. The levels are nice looking though with some pretty good parallax and well defined traps and little details. Batman himself is also a nice sprite as it is highly detailed showing his muscles and cowl. I just wish he fit in with the world better.

Audio:
Nothing really stands out from an audio standpoint. The music seems rather generic but upbeat for the motif of the game. Likewise with the sound effects. Batman’s gun (?) makes an unsatisfying woosh when it shoots.

Completion:
I got to the second world when I finished all the lives on my third continue. There seems to be more than three [infinite?] but I stopped there because I had my fill of the game. I went through the first level feeling out the mechanics and lost a bunch of lives but I ended up beating that world’s baddie on my first try. It was a weird little fighting game of attrition to see who shot the other the most. The second world was dumb because it had moving platforms which would actually activate by the enemies. That’s how I died on my last continue. They activated one then a powerup that fell activated another. I couldn’t progress so I tried to jump the gap and failed.
