Overview:
A reboot or continuation of the Doom saga in which you take control of a space marine on a battle the forces from Hell. It’s a fast action first person shooter game that requires you to be quick and hop from enemy to enemy doing glory kills. Doing these kills will get you your health back or more ammo so you can do more killing. It’s a hectic game! Not to mention you also must do some mild platforming to get better advantages on the enemies or to even progress the level. Every now and then you are placed in a battle arena which spawns tons of enemies with only one way to proceed: survive!

Visuals:
I’m kind of torn on this aspect of DOOM 2016. On one hand it looks incredible and moves super-fast when the action calls for it. On the other, everything kind of lacks depth and looks a little too smooth as if it’s missing detail. Regardless, the game holds on to a rock-solid framerate while all sorts of chaos is going on. There is viscera and gore on every nook and cranny as well as a ton of DEMONIC IMAGERY everywhere. The people are all weirdos as well with no one just being a regular person. The enemies are incredible in their movements and abundance while the weapons are all so unique it makes you wonder what the planning meetings for this game were like.

Audio:
Dawg. The music and sounds in this game are 100% fire. The hard heavy metal just kicks in at all the right moments and just makes you feel invincible. That’s all I have to say about it. It’s just fucking perfect. Rip and tear!

Completion:
I FINISHED THIS GAME! And boy was it a fucking ride. From the very get go you’re just mowing through enemies like a bat out of Hell. The action kind of never stops. Everything is just so over the top, it’s glorious. There are also so many secrets in this game that you want to explore every nook and cranny because you find some of the most insane callbacks to all the DOOMs released. The campaign length is perfect as are the upgrades you get along the way. This game was a blast and feels like lightning in a bottle.
