Overview:
Egg Shen is on a quest to take a dagger he received when he was a kid to a tournament to give to a kid. You are one of three kids going through levels and defeating bad guys while completing quests. It’s what I can gather. It’s a platformer/beat-em-up game mixed with some exploration?
Visuals:
The game is actually pretty well done from a visuals stand point. Some traps do get lost in the background but that just means that everything is very vibrant. The sprites for the characters are also good and you’re able to differentiate between the three of them.
Audio:
The audio is kinda bad. The level 1 music is just a high fast beat that plays for the entirety of the level so it does get on your nerves pretty quick. I do love the in-between zone guitar riffs. Those are fun.
Completion:
I have played this game so many times. Every time I put a SNES emulator on a new piece of hardware this is my go-to game. It started as a fluke because the name always meant it was at the top. Now, it’s habit. I actively go looking for it to test it out.
That said, I have never been able to get past the third zone. This is where all my lives where spent. One by a random bad guy who go the drop on me while two of the lives were ended because I got squished by a boulder. As usual.
